- Job Description
- At Syngenta, our goal is to build the most collaborative and trustworthy team in agriculture, providing top-quality seeds and innovative crop protection solutions that improve farmers' success. To support this mission, Syngenta’s HSE Latam team is looking for an HSE Specialist for our Seeds Business Unit. This role acts as a strategic partner, ensuring the implementation of global and regional HSE strategies to guarantee full compliance with legal requirements and Syngenta’s Code of Practice. The position focuses on supporting Sales and Marketing teams and is based at our corporate office in Vicente López, Buenos Aires
- Accountabilities
- Partner with functional managers to determine HSE priorities, establish service level agreements and lead the design and delivery of solutions to ensure the HSE capabilities and culture to drive the achievement of HSE business goals and reducing the associated risk. Work with regional CoEs to design customer focused and tailored HSE service portfolios.
- Advise management on all HSE aspects including changes in local /code of practices, present and future risks and HSE people development within scope. Support leaders in developing the HSE capabilities and resources required to enable delivery of business strategy.
- Take the accountability for local implementation of HSE operational process (reporting of injury and illness, environmental issues and auditing).
- Provide expert and well–balanced technical HSE advice and ensure all processes / operations are managed in line with Syngenta Code of Practices and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Establish a proactive process to monitor compliance with Syngenta HSE code of practices and applicable legal requirements according to the size and nature of the risks in the operations.
- Contribute / lead country and territory HSE projects defined on the territory strategy.
- Qualifications
- Required
- Degree in Occupational health and safety; Chemical Engineering or similar.
- Post grade or master’s in occupational safety and environmental Affairs (Desirable).
- Desirable: experience in chemical industry / Agro / Pharma.
- Minimum experience of 6 – years in HSE Management at Corporate / Country / Cross – Sector.
- Strong background in occupational health & safety.
- Expertise in road safety, wellbeing initiatives, and occupational health.
- Advanced English (Mandatory).
- Business Management of HSE.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and data management tools.
- Analytical Thinking: Ability to assess and resolve problems and conflicts.
- Ability to influence and gain support.
- Ability to manage diverse stakeholders.
- Desired
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with ability to engage diverse audiences effectively.
- Valid driver's license.
- Willingness and availability to travel domestically on a periodic basis.
- Proven experience in digital communication content creation.
- Strong presentation and public speaking abilities.
