- The role supports coordination between the Purchasing function and some Program
- teams (Engineering / Manufacturing / Cost Engineering) to support Serial Life
- Programs, programs that current are in production. This includes responsibility
- of a dedicated perimeter, supporting the PPM during development by managing Cost
- Collaboration of the Change Management Process with stakeholders (including
- suppliers) through NA IT system
- The mission is to connect internal and external partners to make Change
- Management governance the quickest and most efficient (cost / technical change)
- possible for the company.
- This program buyer role will align to our regional NA structure and report to
- the NA Cost Manager. This role is critical to improve efficiency and cost
- control for programs during serial life production.
- Responsibilities will include but not limited to the following:
- * Manage changes during the evolution of the part from SOP through end of life
- with focus on economic impact to the part and within program timing
- * Lead negotiator on engineering changes with the supplier. Confirm supplier
- cost and review cost and timing to ensure project targets are met or exceeded
- * Lead liaison for the supplier on engineering changes, setup meetings with key
- internal stakeholders and supplier on as needed basis to remove any
- roadblocks
Expected Achievements include but not limited to
- * Analyze supplier provided pictures and documentation. Interact with suppliers
- to provide direct instructions and timely feedback
- * Collaborate with internal teams to ensure Purchasing and Program timing
- deliverables are met
- * Negotiate supplier's economic impacts
- * Manage Cost Collaboration with supplier under timing constraint
- * Achieve TPC target
- * Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in perimeter of
- responsibility
- Qualifications
- * Bachelor of Science in Engineering or a bachelor’s degree in business,
- Finance, Supply Chain Management, Economics, or related field
- * Minimum of 5 years of experience in purchasing or related field
- * Proven ability to build and maintain strong regional and global relationships
- * Must be well organized, self-motivated, capable of managing conflict and
- resourceful when managing complex assignments
- * Must be comfortable and excel in a fast-paced environment
- * Results oriented and ability to lead cross-functional teams both regional and
- globally
- * Robust negotiation skills and the ability to think and act strategically
- * Robust communication skills required, must be comfortable interfacing with
- all levels of management
Preferred Qualifications
- * Program Management Certification
- * Engineering change management knowledge/experience
